Goals - Improve Productivity
Scenario-1
An auto repair shop (or any business with high-demand for customer service), with an installed GuardDog Video Security system, receives a customer call, “When’s my car going to be ready?” The young lady turns to the live video feed (coming free to her across your computer network) and says, “Oh, Mr. Jones, yours is the red Corvette on rack three – it looks like they’re finishing it up as we speak the car and all the paperwork should be ready in 15-minutes. Shall I phone you when it’s done or are you planning to drop in later?”
Without your GuardDog Video, the same task used to require putting the customer on hold, walking out to the shop, talking with the mechanic (which took him away from his focus), walking back, and taking the phone off hold – perhaps 1-3 minutes? It’s now handled in seconds and your business never put the customer on hold!
Sidebar: If your system is Internet connected, you could provide your client direct access to your system video… which might eliminate the phone call altogether.
Scenario-2
You or your customer service rep can use that same video feed to see if your service staff is busy or just standing around waiting for work. If they’re all busy – except Billy – without getting out of her chair, customer service can get on the intercom and say, “Billy – that green minivan just came in for an oil change, can you get right on it?”
Instead of continuing to stand around – while your customer silently wonders, “Why the heck isn’t that guy getting after my vehicle?” promptly and courteously, your staff can keep business flowing productively.
Scenario-3
By integrating a simple door open sensor with GuardDog’s I/O equipped DVR, a date/time stamped event record will be created each and every time the door is opened. Our system creates an event log which can easily be copied into an Excel Spreadsheet for analysis.
Within a short time, you will know the exact time your business experiences the most (or the least) amount of traffic. This data can then be used to schedule staff or target advertizing to draw customers on days that are otherwise less busy.
Scenario-4
Often, employees work differently when they perceive the boss is not around. You need not become a slave to your video system but with an Internet connected GuardDog Video Security system, you can easily log on (from anywhere you’ve got an Internet connection) and “check-in” on your staff. You’d be surprised how much a simple phone call, “…I noticed that it’s not real busy, why don’t you take care of…” will motivate an employee to become (and remain) productive.
Also, while you’re on-line, you can save that video clip (perhaps for review at the next employee meeting or when it comes time for that staff member’s quarterly management review).
