Wireless Solutions, Digital (IP) Cameras

If short distance wireless transmission is necessary, often IP cameras are equipped with their own, low powered wireless network capabilities.  When longer distance transmission is required (usually multiple cameras) are communicated via wireless LAN bridges (two dedicated radios programmed to "talk" only to one another). In larger systems - often covering many square miles, specialized wireless mesh networks are developed as dedicated transmission vehicles for IP video to be transmitted from different areas to a central storage location or NVR (Network Video Recorder).


GSS is experienced in all of these technologies and on a regular basis we utilize wireless LAN bridge technology as "transmission vehicles" to communicate digital camera data. Some installations, because of wired distance limitation demand the use of wireless technology while in other cases it is simpler and/or less expensive that running multiple network transmission cables.
