Criminals are not all that hard to recognize. Wearing a hooded sweatshirt (on a warm night), face covered with a dark netting, gun in his right hand pocket were all signs that suggested this was NOT a good situation.
Sure enough a few moments later the unsuspecting C-Store attendant was being robbed. Fortunately, this criminal chose only to use his weapon as a threat to cause harm and nobody was physically hurt.
Had the business owner elected to fully integrate his DVR system. As the employee reached to open the drawer he could have (without making any alerting movements) hit a panic button - creating an emergency input to the smart GuardDog DVR System and instantly initiating an automated message phone call to law enforcement – this ugly situation may have been averted quicker.
Fortunately, since we began in the video security business in 2005, the above represents the one and only time a GuardDog Video Security customer installation has been robbed at gunpoint – a testimony in itself that our systems deter criminal activity.
